Kaka'ako Days


Hula_dancers The Kaka'ako Days festival was full of memories for those familiar with the area. The two day event was a celebration of the mom-and-pop businesses and cultures from the area. The event was full of people enjoying various activities, demonstrations, entertainment and food all over Ward.

Activities included Chinese paper cutting, Lion Dances, artist demonstrations, and a historical photo exhibit.  The event was even topped off with families taking tours of Kaka'ako in an antique fire truck. Fire_engine

book_signing Author Marsha Gibson was also present to sign copies of her book "Kaka'ako As We Knew It", which tells the story of Gibson as a young girl growing up in Kaka'ako and the memories of those around her.
