Kamehameha Schools (KS)  has submitted a master plan application to the Hawaii Community Development Authority for development of approximately 29 acres of its land in Kaka`ako Mauka.

Called the "Kaiaulu O` Kaka`ako master plan", it proposes a mixed-use urban village.  Major design features of the master plan include improved streetscape, beautification of Auahi Street, and creation of public spaces.

According to current HCDA rules, a contested case hearing on the master plan is being held before any action on the master plan can be taken.

HCDA held a Public Meeting on May 7, 2009 to receive public comments on the master plan.
