University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine
The John A. Burns School of Medicine's new Kaka'ako facility was recently dedicated. It's the new home for the school's education and research activities. Two mid-rise buildings are designed to facilitate and support the dual mission of the school.
The Children's Discovery Center
The Children's Discovery Center, located adjacent to the Kakaako Waterfront Park, is now open to the public. In September 1995, the HCDA completed remediation and structural stabilization work on the former Kewalo Incinerator located adjacent to the Kakaako Waterfront Park, for use as a children's museum.
Honolulu Fire Department Headquarters Complex
The City and County recently completed construction on a new $12.7 million Headquarters Complex for the Honolulu Fire Department on 1.603 acres of land at the intersection of Queen and South Streets.
Historic Ala Moana Pumping Station
A draft policy and development strategy plan for the historical Ala Moana pumping station and developable lands in the ewa portion of Kaka'ako makai area has completed with community input.
Kaka'ako Waterfront Park Amphitheater
The Kaka'ako Waterfront Park Amphitheater is the site for many concerts and community events.
