Road Work on Nimitz Highway & Ala Moana Boulevard Continues

Nimitz Highway - Ala Moana Boulevard Road Work Map

Road work is continuing on portions of Nimitz Highway and Ala Moana Boulevard, as shown in the map above.  The work primarily consists of reconstructing, milling and resurfacing the asphalt roadway.  Additional activities include installation of concrete bus pads, excavation for utility work, installation of permanent pavement markings, traffic loop sensors and adjustment of utility manholes.  The State Department of Transportation began work on this project on January 8, 2007 and the work is scheduled to continue until early January 2008.  Work is primarily being done at night with the working hours between 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday to Friday.  However, there will be some weekend 24 hour closures for bus pad installation.  Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time while driving through the work areas.  Please observe all traffic controls and posted signs; expect lane closures and delays.

Contractor for the project:  Grace Pacific Corporation (Phone: 842-3991)
